How Can Fever With A Barking Cough Be Treated?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... My 2 year old son just started getting cold symptoms yesterday and has had a fever of 100 -103. Tylenol and Ibuprofen has not taken care of it. He is still very warm and has a barking cough. What do I do?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

First, you should give your child a healthy diet, plenty of water to help increase her immunity. A warm shower will help the temperature to decrease and wet clothes. About the cough try aerosol with NaCl. Combination of Tylenol and Ibuprofen are the best solution. If all of these doesn't help then you should go to see a doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
