How Can Hearing Loss With Initial Tinnitus Be Treated?

My name is Michael I m 21 years old, 5 9 in height and weigh about 220 lbs. The problem began around 5 weeks ago I woke up and I had no hearing in my left ear, this happened 3 days in a row (I can hear on the inside though, not sure if that s a good thing though) so I thought it was due to sound, but later found out that it seemed to be with pressure. As I randomly pushed the back of my left ear inside and lost it for a little bit. Without touching it or anything I could still hear fine though. Right now I m on day 3 without hearing in my left ear, 3 mornings ago I wasn t thinking and had an ear itch and rubbed it and since then it has been gone and has yet to return, prior to this the longest it had been gone was about 3 hours. I figure this has something to do with last year. I was sick for around a week and had a runny/stuffy nose at 1 point I blew my nose too hard and my ear popped this caused me to lose control of my balance for some seconds. I know I should of gone to get checked out but I had no insurance at the time, not do I right now. I will this upcoming month because it takes an entire month to kick in. I appreciate any help I can get, thanks in advance. Oh and before I forget there s no noises in my left ear, just can t hear from it. If there s is anything I might of left out feel free to ask and I ll do my best to answer. ~Michael

Hi,

Since you had a cold and had to blew your nose it might be possible that you had a Eustachian catarrh and now you may have fluid in you middle ear. You definitely need audiometric tests including PTA and Impendence to arrive at any conclusion. Please get it done as soon as possible so that you may be helped better. Helpful tip: Do inhale plain steam as treatment for cold

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
