Subject: Heat stroke, exhaustion Patient: Male, 48yrs. old, diabetic Medications: Clausipine, blood pressure med and geodon The heat advisory (i.e. 90-105 index) for the past week in our geo area, my brother had no working AC in his bedroom and spent time outside. He is usually very alert and physically strong; however, he called me and was complaining of very high temps and unable to eat much for 3 days on Monday. He missed his appoint. on Tuesday (9:00 am) and I proceeded to transport him up at 12:30 pm for an altered appoint. His symptoms were very warm forehead, confusion, exhaustion, physical cramps on one side of body when attempting to stand and is still displaying mental confusion. The Nurse at 1:00 pm Tuesday took his blood pressure and noticed his mental confusion and physical unstable condition when attempting to stand, however, did not suggest an emergency room visit. His body temp may had lowered in my car AC and no temp. was taken at the appoint. Can a Doctor-blood work reveal if he has had a heat stroke-exhaustion or any brain damage after 4 days? He appears alittle better mentally and physically (not as exhausted and alittle more conversational and normal physical movement at this time).
