Hi, my brother has high fever 100+ and headache. i have administered dolo, along with maftal in case of very high fever. is it right? or should i give other medicine as well. he is consuming food, ORS, and liquid continually. Can u suggest something more. Thanks
Fever is a symptom of an underlying disease. There are many causes of fever such as malaria, typhoid, infectious mononucleosis, TB, Dengue etc. Advice 1. Azithral 500 mg daily per oral for 5 days 2. Tablet Dolo per oral if fever occurs. Avoid Meftal 3. Continue liquid diet and ORS 4. Drink 4 – 5 liters of water daily 5. Cold water sponging if fever is more than 100 degree Farenheight 6. Investigations – CBC, Widal test, blood smear for malarial parasite, and dengue NS1 antigen Consult a doctor with reports if fever is not relieved by above measures. I hope this information will help you. I will be happy if you ask another question Thanks
