Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i am looking for treatment for hot flashes (several/day and many reuslt in nausea that hinders activity). I am 55 and they are getting worse. Because I had estrogen positive breast cancer (bilateral mastectomies in 2014), I understand hormone treatment is not an option (and probably wouldn t choose that route, anyway). Are herbal treatments effective? harmful?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
No they are not and they can damage the liver. If not hormone replacement then try lifestyle change. Be in cool temperature all the time and a low dose of Paroxetine is advised and is nonhormonal but will need a prescription.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Harshita
