Can Hot Flushes Be Treated?

I am experiencing hot flashes as the result of extremely low levels of testosterone following prostetectomy. A friend was rx d a drug, Magastrol or Megestrol to treat him for hot flashes. He told me that after a trial of this medicine the hot flashes stopped. I looked up this drug and found nothing about treating hot flashes. Are you aware of such a treatment or is there any treatment for hot flashes?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi,

I think that you can start taking vitamin supplements containing isoflavones for 20 days instead of hormonal medicine.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
