How Can Hyper Pigmentation On The Forehead Be Treated?
Hi I have been getting migraines since I was 15. I m 30 now. I use excedrin every time I get a migraine for pain relief. The pain is always on the middle of my forehead. I always rub that area and there s always a dark spot after. The skin is breaking by peeling and now it looks like a Ash Wednesday mark on my forehead. Is there any cream I can use to get my normal skin color back? I went to a dermatologist once and she said it s hyperpigmengation. Could arnica cream work?
Understanding your concern. As per your query hyper-pigmentation on forehead which is because of extreme sensitivity of your skin to sun light and pigmentation because of increased melanin production by melanocytes.
I would suggest you to :-
- Apply azelaic acid cream twice a day. Azelaic acid is natural extract of cereals which is effective and safe for use .
- Apply broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 15 while going outside , so that UV rays will not damage the skin further .
If condition doesn't get better in one month then consult dermatologist. Doctor may recommend procedure like microneedling or chemical peeling depending upon your condition.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
