my dr prescibed antabuse for me 250mg a day. i want to cut back on drinking. my questions is if i want to limit one night a week to have a glass of wine will this work for me? if I don t take it the morning of the night i want to have a drink? or will it still make me sick?
Antabuse is not a suitable option for you if you wish to continue drinking occasionally. Even if you skip your tablets, you may still suffer from a reaction on taking alcohol in the evening as some of the drug remains in the body for long. In my opinion, you should discuss your wish to continue drinking with your doctor and look at alternatives to antabuse, if you are not willing to abstain completely.
Best wishes.
