How Can Involuntary Body Jerks And Twitches In An Insomniac Be Treated?
I have mental illness linked overactive brain and I am not feeling sleepy for two three days for a couple of months now. I am not sleepy at all during night times and awake a whole night and the next day still not sleepy or unable to sleep. Many times prescription sleep medicines dont help at all. Is this psychiatry issue or neurology issue (starting to have jerks and mini fits) or check in with Sleep medicine? I just wanted to be able to sleep like normal people every day and would like to know what to do next please.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Anxiety issue can lead to sleeping difficulty. If you are having anxiety history than Fluoxetine and Alprazolam like medication need to be started. It has to be taken continuously under doctor advise for improvement. You are having jerks and fit as well, hence EEG and CT scan like investigation advisable in your case. I suggest you to consult psychiatrist or neurologist for examination.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
