General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I will tell my suggestion in 3 steps.

Step1: Please do these tests:

1. Lower Abdomen USG
2. Complete Blood Test
3. Thyroid Function Test (T3, T4, TSH)

Step 2: Start this medication/course; Norethisterone 5 mg, 4 times daily, for 3 months.

There will be no period during this step.

Step3: Stop the medication. After stopping the medication, bleeding will start.

On 2nd day of bleeding, do these tests:

-serum FSH, LH, Estrogen, Progesterone
-Lower Abdominal USG including endometrial thickness__________________________________________________

Follow the above 3 steps, you will not only may have regular periods but also we can understand if there is any underlying problem.

If found, that problem can be treated, and you will be fine. After Step 3, post another question with all the results from step1 and step 3, any doctor can follow you up.

Do not worry, we have highly skilled doctors here. You are under good treatment. Be relaxed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
