General & Family Physician 's  Response
I would first recommend you to repeat Urine pregnancy test after 5 days with 1st urine sample of the morning and an ultrasound examination.
A negative pregnancy test does not rule out pregnancy. Confirm if you are pregnant or not, then only go ahead with the pills to get your periods.
The ultrasound exam will not only help in confirming your pregnancy, but may also find abnormalities if any that may have caused your irregular periods in the first place like any uterine fibroids, PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) etc

Hope this helps you in making a decision, thank you.
