How Can Leaky Bladder After A Radical Prostatectomy Be Treated?
I had radical prostatectomy 2.5 years ago. I m am 65 yrs old. My bladder leaks despite all exercise to prevent. I firmly believe the nurses who removed catheter after 10 days blew up the catheter balloon and damaged the muscle at base of bladder when they were in fact trying to pump fluid into the bladder. The balloon was at the bottom by mistake instead of up in the bladder. Its done and cant go back but can a urologist put a stitch or two at the bladder bottom to tighten it up? Thank you

General & Family Physician, Dr. Varinder's Response
Hello,
Please note that urinary incontinence is a known complication of prostatectomy. You should try Kegel exercises and try holding urine, while passing urine. Slowly and slowly, you will regain bladder control.
What you are taking about nurse problem, it is not justified.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
With Regards,
Dr Varinder Joshi .
