How Can Low Amniotic Fluid During Pregnancy Be Treated?

I m 37 weeks pregnant. Fourth child. My previous deliveries have been by C-section. I went to do at ultrasound and an nst last Wednesday. I had to return today to do the same thing over again. The first time my amniotic fluid was low, today my amniotic fluid has went down more. My Ob doc told me to come back Saturday and do another ultrasound and that I didn t have to make another appointment, kind wondering what her plans may be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

She is likely going to re check the level of the amniotic fluid and if it has continued to decrease, she may deliver the baby via C section. At 37 weeks, the baby would be healthy and able to do well after delivery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
