I had impact 4 days ago to the lower part of my back. Above L4-L5. Great pain at the time but it subsides quickly and has been light until this morning. Now movement _bending over or reaching has me in wincing pain left side lower back No pain in the center. I have stenosis and have been managing ,very well, the arthritis condition since L4L5 endoscope surgery in 2000. The impact was a tree trunk about 8 inches in diameter and it hit me square and knock me to the ground

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

To be on safe side you need to undergo following investigations -

USG abdomen - to detect any internal bleeding
X-rat chest&abdomen - to detect fracture of any rib
I advice consult surgeon as early as possible.

For symptomatic pain relief you can ibuprofen or diclofenac.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards
Dr. Hiren
