Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My relative has stage 4 lung cancer which is mostly in the left lung, a bit in the right lung and has spread to the back and a bit to the brain. Is there any form of alternative medicine which she can take as chemotherapy is not possible as she is weak. She has had her right breast removed 3 years ago due to breask cancer
If the lung cancer is already spread(metastasis) to back and brain that means it is the last stage(4th) of cancer. Unfortunately, after spreading to various organs the chances of survival are less. Physicians can only provide palliative care: It focuses on providing relief from symptoms, pain and stress. ... When chemotherapy is part of your treatment for lung cancer, palliative care can manage side effects such as nausea, vomiting, pain, fatigue, constipation and diarrhea, depression and insomnia.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
