Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A respiratory illness (not flu) turned into a lung infection. My doctor put me on Flovent (2 puffs a day) and nebulized Albuterol 3 times a day. One week later the lung issues are improved, but today I feel like I am swallowing over a rock and it is painful to talk. I will quit both the Flovent and the Albuterol. My question: Is there anything I can do other than simply stopping the medications?
Sudden onset pain on swallowing while on Flovent concerning for oral thrush or candidiasis. Oral examination can confirm the diagnosis. Please follow up with your primary care provider. Meanwhile, you can do nystatin swish.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal
