How Can Methamphetamine Withdrawal Symptoms Be Treated?
I Understand that Meth is a stimulant. I am building my confidence and hoping to quit. I am afraid of the severe constipation that i Know is caused because my bowels depend on having that stimulant for them to work right. I've tried other stimulant laxatives also caffeine, epsom salt, but all do not work and just cause severe pain in abdomen is there a way to go through this any easier or as easy as it is with The meth?
There are several new drugs taht are entirely untried for this but treat constipation from abnormal tone in the bowels (which you DO have). It's a maybe for LINZESS and AMTIZA. Get samples.
In theory, non-stimulant treatment of constipation is better for exactly the reasons you mentioned--the bowel gets used to the stimulants. Things that just put more stuff in the bowel are helpful in some, just cause more bloating in others. These include increassed fiber and fluid, lactulose, and miralax.
Stool softener (ok, its detergent) like colace is generally a good, safe place to start.
