How Can Mouth Ulcers And Cuts, Throat And Tongue Soreness Be Treated?
Hi, I have chrons disease and I'm allergic to sodium benzoate which is in toothpastes and mouthwashes. I have recently developed cuts and ulcers in my mouth and a very sore throat and tongue which is making it very difficult to eat or swallow what can I do to alleviate this?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...
As per your complain mouth ulcers and tongue soreness is seen as a symptom in patients suffering from Crohn's Disease and is a sign of active disease.. It can also be due to allergic reaction to toothpaste f you are exposed to it.. I would suggest you to consult your treating physician and get evaluated and after a thorough clinical evaluation he can advise you to take the appropriate medications.. As of now you can take supportive treatment to reduce the discomfort like gargle with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine especially during meals.. Do cold water rinses and suck ice pops.. Take a soft and cool diet.. Take vitamin supplements..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
