How Can Nose Congestion Along With Sore Throat Be Treated?

i don t know what to buy in the drug store...for a nose that is stuffed sometimes not, head stuffed, ears clogged, no temperature, had flu shot a few weeks ago...had sore throat not anymore, been taking pain reliever. and gargeling with apple cider vinegar and honi, and sometimes salt water...thank u very much..

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.

Treat the combination of nasal congestion and a sore throat by:

1. Drinking plenty of water and/or warm liquids.
2. Using a humidifier or vaporizer or carefully breathing in steam from a pot on the stove.
3. Avoiding spicy or rough-textured foods which can irritate the throat.
4. Using warm compresses on your face to relieve discomfort and open your nasal passages.
5. Keeping your head elevated while sleeping to facilitate draining and make breathing more comfortable.
6. Gargling with warm salt water.
7. Avoiding cigarette smoke and odors.
