my diagnosis from my cardiologist is AFIB w/RBR, Asthma Intrinsic w/exacerbation, hypertension, diabetes type II, GERD and Obstructive sleep apnea....he told me that I could not go back to work and to apply for disability. Can I be approved for social security disability with this diagnosis?
I am sorry for the many issues you must be experiencing judging from the many diagnoses. Regarding your question about disability, I suppose there may be different regulations according to your country, so your local doctor should know best. However I believe that you should be approved for social security disability given your complex multiple health issues. In the title of your thread you ask also how can obstructive sleep apnea be treated. First there are some risk factors for sleep apnea, most important of those factors is obesity. I don't know whether that's your case, if yes weight loss is an important measure. Usually sleep apnea is treated using a machine with a mask which you wear, which creates continuous positive airway pressur (CPAP) to help your breathing by creating a pressure which doesn't allow your airways to collapse. Another treatment is the use of oral appliances which keep your lower jaw and tongue forward. When these measures are ineffective at times surgery is also used as a last resort. Surgery might be considered also in the case of nasal polyps or enlarged tonsils. Hope to have satisfactorily answered your inquiries. Feel free to come back to our community for info regarding your health issues.
