How Can Pain After Ureteral Stent Placement Be Treated?
I recently had a stent put in my urinary track over a 9 mm kidney stone and that didnt do the job, so the lithroscopy was used with stint still in and afterwards suntanning stint has been removed and I am having pain still. Has there been a bad mixture of events here to put me sometimes in almost not moving much degree.
Hello, i can understand your concern. A stent is placed after a stone removal surgery to prevent ureters from collapsing.the stent is removed after about 4 weeks. Mild pain for few days is a normal thing after the stent removal. Do not worry about it. if the pain persists i would suggest a Ultrasound KUB and an Xray KUB to check for presence of any residual stone. Meanwhile an anti inflammatory drug like diclofenac can be used for pain relief. Drink 3 litres of water each day. Avoid taking calcium supplements unless prescribed. Hope i have answered your query. Have a nice day
