How Can Pain And Stiffness In The Legs Be Treated?
Hello, I am a 54 yr female who is experiencing muscle pain in both legs daily to the point it hurts to walk. Limb stairs etc. while active during day pain is dull and I can stand, but when resting and getting back up I am stiff and can not walk without pain.
Difficult to pin-point an exact problem without more a specific body part that is hurting (that is hips, knees, ankle, heel, ball of the foot et cetera.)
However; typically, a dull achy pain that persist throughout the day but is worse after resting and then rising is related to an inflammatory process. This could be chronic issue (arthritic in nature) or an acute inflammatory process (example; plantar fasciitis). Either way; developing a good stretching regimen and following the basic RICE modalities (rest, icing, compression and elevation) would help with the inflammation.
Also, seeking an anti-inflammatory regimen (under the guidance of a physician) would be recommended. For example 800 mg Ibuprofen three time daily x 10 days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Justin Hooker
