How Can Pain And Swelling Caused By A Torn Meniscus Be Treated?

My husband was hurt on the job. On May 23rd he had surgery as the Doctor told him it was a torn maniscuis? At this point in time he is still suffering with constant pain and swelling; he is going to therapy twice a week. He tells me something else is wrong he can feel it in his knee. He spoke to his Doctor about it (Workman s Comp) and he tells my husband to continue doing therapy, icing it, walking and he will see him August 3rd? He is walking with a limb and is just miserable. He would like to go back to work but cannot since he will have to pass a physical. HELP! YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

Complete pain relief and recovery after meniscal surgery can take up to 6-8 week. Meanwhile, continue icing, physical therapy, and Advil 600 mg 4 times daily for pain relief.

Hope this answers your question
