How Can Pain And Swelling On The Ankles And Toes Be Treated?

I am a male age 57 6 days ago a horse fell on my leg, I did not fall to the ground. I have a swollen area about the size of a baseball and bruising that has migrated down to my foot. Ankle and toes are purple. I have pain and have difficulty walking due to pain. Should I have an x ray or will this get better over time? Thank you

Of course you should do an X-ray of leg because I suspect it may be broken. Meanwhile keep it in rest and elevated. Immobilize it. Put ice on it. Have Advil or Acetaminophen for pain.
