How Can Pain Around The Kidney Area Be Treated?

Hi I recently started having pulsating or flank pain in my left kidney. It went on for two days, I went to the ER and as I was waiting there the pain slowly changed and went towards my stomach and bladder. So I m sure it was a stone. I had X-rays and a Ct scan which showed nothing. My urine test came back normal as well. Now the pain is not so bad but still there. I m wondering what I should do next.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and welcome to `Ask A Doctor` service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

* Possible radio lucent calculus in the urinary system, which will not
show up on x-ray and CT scan.

* I recommend to undertake an IVP with CT scan for the final
diagnostic step.

Thanks.
Take care.
