How Can Pain Around The Kidney Area Be Treated?

Hello, From last few days my mother is suffering from pain on both sides of the kidneys. Nuv t sure whether it is a internal pain or external. But mostly felling like internal and it is unbearable. She is a diabetic patient and the level is between 250-300. Please suggest which specialist I need to contact if it is an internal pain or kidney problem. Thanks in advance.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As a diabetic with persistent pain, it would be best for her to be seen. Since the exact source of the pain is not known, she can initially see her GP who would evaluate her and determine if a referral is required.

I hope this helps.
