How Can Pain Due To Arthritis Be Managed?

I m an 80 year old man who fnally had the group of X- rays talen. onset of arthituritis and some oste loss but my primary Doctor said to get some physical herapy which I scheduled today to begin next week. I ve received pain rlief with two 200 mg s of Motrin . Just bought the 100 coaed caplets - two -200 mg . They did not provde the same relif that the uncoated ones. C

Hi,

As per my clinical experience, the coating of the drug is to protect the stomach from drug content and avoid a gastric upset in the majority of the instances and hence will not alter the efficacy of the drug, yes the onset of action can be somewhat later than uncoated one.

So far as pain management is concerned, it is multifactorial as

@ regular assisted physiotherapy
@ heating pad application
@ regular drug intake ( preferably with antacid as ranitidine )
@ control of blood sugar, body weight
@ avoiding hyper stretching of particularly painful joints.
