How Can Pain In The Big Toe Be Treated?

My second toe on my right foot is leaning toward my big toe and crowding it - feeling as though it is putting pressure on my toenail on the big toe. This causes a stabbing pain at that point of contact only. The second toe doesn t hurt, but any pressure at that point on the big toe is very painful.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The most common cause of big toe pain is underlying callus over the sole and same must be examined by the GP for a primary diagnosis.

Primary care with soft slippers, heating pad application and analgesic medicines.

Avoid tight shoes or high heels if using. Keep your blood sugar and body weight under control.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
