How Can Pain In The Left Toe Be Treated?

Hi I have broken my left big toe on january 20 due to playing soccer. I thought that it was nothing and just left it as that. After a month, it still hurts when I bend my big toe for some reason. Also, when I try to kick a ball with my left foot, it really hurts. I have gotten an x-ray from my walk-in-clinic 2 weeks ago which says 7mm undisplaced fracture of the distant planax of the base of the big toe.. I don t know if I should go to ER as its been a month already. What do you think I should do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I would like to tell you that you should go to an orthopedic surgeon as soon as possible and get yourself checked. Since you have been diagnosing with a fracture of the distal phalanx of the big toe. You will be required to get your foot in a cast or the fracture will not heal, and may even lead to malunion and cause severe pain and discomfort.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nazma.amman
