Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I have a wisdom tooth partially erupted in the back. For the past month it's been very sore and hard to chew food on that side without pain. Some days are not as painful. I've noticed what appears to be a round canker sore with a white middle on my cheek right next to the tooth which is actually more painful. Not sure what this could be. More concerned with this than the actual tooth I know I need to have removed.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that you have an impacted wisdom tooth and the gum flap over it is getting inflamed leading to a condition known as Pericoronitis..
It occurs due to infection occuring between gum flap and wisdom tooth causing pus formation and pain..
Consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray has to be done..
You can be advised a course of antibiotics and painkillers along with antiseptic mouthwash gargles and warm saline gargles.. In case if it recurs then removal of the gum flap or extraction of the tooth can provide permanent relief..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks AND Regards..
