Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
iI went to the ER with pain in my wrist after I bumped against a wall. I was given an x-ray and told there was no fracture. The next day it felt better. I u sually use my cell phone, but tonight I checked my old home line and found that the doctor who treated me in the ER and discharged me had called to inform me that I had a bone chip. I called the ER tonight and he is not there and no one can speak to me. What should I do?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Chip fracture is not that much serious and generally no surgical correction is required. However you might require a cast and sling for couple of weeks to immobilize affected hand. Consult an orthopedic and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
