How Can Pain On The Face While Suffering From Shingles Be Treated?
Am in my third week of shingles treatment. shooting pains in skin on right side of face do not seem to be getting any better. Taking prescriptions of Gabapentin 100MG three times a day, and valacyclovir hcl 1 gr tablets. Can I increase the dosage for better results? 81 yrs old. Frustrating.

Increasing the valacyclovir will not help. A higher dose of gabapentin may be helpful if done under your doctor's supervision. Your doctor may also be able to prescribe other medications to help you with the painful condition.
