General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for your question.

I'm sorry about the discomfort you currently experience. I would walk you through a few essential tips to help alleviate this pain. Please note that the pain would only resolve gradually

1. Continue using over-the=counter (OTC) non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen
2. Regular ice massage of the plantar surface for 5-10 minutes up to 6 times daily till you feel significant relief.
3.Splint your foot when you sleep to help stretch the foot and plantar fascia. This reduces the early morning pain you feel.
4. Get OTC orthotics which modify your shoes and help make it more comfortable for you.
5. You are definitely going to need physiotherapy to help with stretch and strengthening exercises of the feet. Please schedule an appointment with one.
6. You need to rest the foot and this may require casting and immobilization of the foot, so you should visit your doctor for this procedure.

Please begin applying these tips as soon as you can, so the pain subsides. Also, review with me if you have more questions.

Best wishes.
