I have varicose (ropes) veins on my left leg. Yesterday and today it is very painful and there is hard red swelling along the vein. Two areas an inch or so each going down the side of my leg. I had an anti embolism stocking on and had to take it off because it got so painful. Less pain when elevated. Very painful when on it. I had phlebitis in the past but without the hard red swelling. In the middle of a snow storm of over a foot of snow so cannot get out.
