How Can Peripheral Neuropathy And Gout Be Treated?

I have been treated for gout and neuropathy and the meds I’ve been on didn’t work so I quit going to the Dr. my feet hurt constantly and can hardly walk at times. It has been a year now since I quit drinking and I was a severe alcoholic. Any advice is appreciated.

hello welcome to healthcaremagic.
I am Dr. Arpit varshney and i will surely help you out.

gout is treated depending on the chronicity of symptoms.
acute attack of gout is treated with nsaids like paracetamol or diclofenac.
for maintaining remission, uricosuric drugs are used like probencid.

in severe cases, steroids can also be given.

for neuropathy multivitamins are prescribed and please get a nerve conduction study done.

so,for time being please take an nsaid like diclofenac or a stronger medicine like hydroxyquinone and get following investigations done-
xray of great toe
synovial fluid examination
s.uric acid levels.
CBC with ESR
KFT

I hope this helps.
please feel free to revert back in case of any further concerns/queries.
i wish for your good health
thank you.
