Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I think I have plantar fasciitis but it hasn t gotten any better with rest. It has lasted about 2 months. Painful when I first wake up and I have to limp. Also painful when I have been sitting for awhile. When it warms up I am able to do my normal activities.
If u suffering from plantar fascitis, rest your feet and do stretching exercises, wear cushioned sole shoes or athelitic shoes. put shoes on immediately aftr getting up from bed, do not move bare feet. For pain relief you can take NSAID tablet. If still it dosent go please consult your doctor. For non surgical methods we have night splints, casts and shoe inserts and for surgical option we have plantar fascia realese surgery but that happens in rare cases. If u take good physical therapy like exercises and proper shoe care and rest position it will be corrected within 6 months.
