Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I Have been Diagnosed with post traumatic arthritis in both ankle and also have plantar fasciosis in both feet which make walking painful in taking paracetomol and ibrufen everyday i find it hard to know what to do and what things i should be doing to improve things
Of course there are changes of post traumatic arthritis. I would advice you to be conscious first with the ankle. Because ankle bears the whole body weight and this leads the joint to undergo maximum amount of stress and load.
First thing I will advice you to start exercising for the core. post which focus on the hip and knee region. Later look for calf / leg region. All this exercises will be induced in the lying posture so no stress is applied to the ankle. Which will help joint saved from stress and strain.
Next once you are assessed by a physical therapist or orthopedist than you can switch to balance board training. This balance board training is of good outcome to most ankle injury cases. As the exercises will focus more on joint proprioception and also to correct the muscle imbalance.
Once you start the exercises on balance board you will initially find difficult but as practice keeps moving you will find lot of relief from the stress applied over the ankle joint. You will even have good changes in your plantaris muscle. Rest assured.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
