Hello,

I can understand your concern. I am assuming that you were symptom-free before last 20 days. It might have happened that your tongue may have been hurt while eating or speaking causing mild infection and little pain.

I would advise you to take Cefadroxyl 500 mg (Droxyl) twice a day for five days to resolve the infection. You can apply topical Benzocaine gel (Mucopain) to the area 3-4 times a day for 5 days and observe if it goes away.

If it increases or you experience intense pain, swelling, bleeding etc., then you might need to consult a dentist for physical examination of the area and further local treatment. You might need to get the ring removed.

I hope this advise helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM. Let me know if you have further questions.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
