How Can Rashes On The Body And Cold In An Infant Be Treated?
My daughter is 17 months and has was appears to be hives. They started yesterday and have gotten progressively worse. They feel very firm underneath the skin and hot. She has a runny nose and a slight cough as well. Should I take her in? I do have a photo if that helps. Thank you!
You should know that rashes of infants have some causes of it. Most common viral infections and may be sometimes followed by bacterial infection. Also allergy to certain foods or drink can cause these rashes and it appears when the patient eat that food. Mostly your infant symptoms refer to having viral. You should refer her to see doctor to clinically examine her as there are measles or German measles and scarlet fever and other viral diseases can cause that. She needs to do some investigations like measles antibodies and blood culture and may need other investigations to detect causes as ASO test. If you have a photo of that, send to us, so we can help you a lot.
Hope that helps.
Take care
