How Can Rashes On The Upper Leg After Taking Flagyl Be Treated?
Several Weeks ago I had very severe reaction to Citpro/Flagyl after 5 days taking for Diviticulitis (74 years old), all the worse ones (severe anxiety, confusion, hallucinations, naursia, etc). Lucky they caught it before I kept taking the 10 day dose, still not totally over the side effects. Six days ago I developed a large rash on my upper outside leg and lower butt (itching and burning) and now spending to my other leg. Appointment with my Doctor Friday. Saw that one of the side effects was rash. Possible after a couple of weeks? Been treating with Hydrocortisone 2 1/2 percent but has not helped. Thanks David
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your history, as you have allergic reaction with cipro and falgyl, so avoid it. Now you can take Tab. loratadine, hydrocortisone ointment after consultion. Kindly Consult with physician if you have difficulty in breathing, spreading rash all over the body. Take care.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shyam B. Kale
