Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a friend with escrutiating/recurring shingles. Doctors can t give her a certain medicine until she is 50 years or older. WHY? She says it feels like acid on her face and long nails going through her eyes and skull. This sounds to me like inhumane torture. Do you have any suggestions?
Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern. Some advices that I can give to you are: -Use antivirals such as acyclovir -use painkillers like acetaminophen - You might get lidocaine (Lidoderm, Xylocaine) for pain There aren’t home remedies for shingles. But there are things you can do to help your skin heal Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
