My husband Tom, DOB 2/2/38, was diagnosed with Parkinsons about 4 yrs ago. Also has very bad back pain which he has had for maybe 4-5 years. About a year ago the combination of these two problems began to be so bad that he would sit most of every day and when he tried to walk, he was unable to go 100 feet and would be unable to make it back inside the house without falling. The back pain is awful too. The first of May, the Neurologist gave us a prescription for Lyrika, 75 mg two times a day for 2 weeks, then 3 a day. Now since he still has not had any relief from the pain, he wants him to take 100 mg. 3 times a day. The problem is his feet and legs are so swollen that he can t wear shoes other than flip flops, and I don t think the increased dosage is going to work. What do you think we should do?
