Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi,we are living in turkey my girl baby 3years old suffering with severe cough from 4days I already used Alex junior but not cured completely. And also she have flum I am using nebulizer with asthaline at once daily I don t have any other medicine s please suggest what I will do now
If your daughter is active, eating well and not having a fever, then very likely this is a viral infection. In this case, you may give her guaifenesin syrup and can use Vicks gel on her chest to help open her airways. Nasal lavage with saline solution may help open the airways, loosen the secretions and ease the cough.
If she is not better with the above treatment in 2-3 days or she is any worse or if she has a fever, is not eating well or is not active she will need to be seen by a doctor to rule out pneumonia (lung infection).
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
