Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe ear pain which is because of infection of upper respiratory tract infection that has spread to ear through Eustachian tube. It could be due to trigeminal neuralgia, ear wax accumulation, ear fluid accumulation and fungal infection in ear. Apply dry warm compresses to external ear and cover it while bathing . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. You should go for otoscopic examination. Maintain complete hygiene. Take antibiotic along with anti-inflammatory medication. Apply warm compresses on ear. Put ciplox or gatiflox ear drops. avoid touching or pricking it with sharp object. Take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
