Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Severe Headaches After Chemotherapy Be Treated?
I am undergoing Chemo for Stage 2 Breast Cancer. I used Zofran on my 1st cycle and really suffered from bad headaches, although I did not have and naseau or vomiting. I have also have been given Phenegren, wondering if the Phenegren will work as well as the zofran or should I just stick with the zofran and deal with the headaches?
While za from is a great choice for vomiting associated with chemotherapy. However, headache is quite common with it.
We need to balance the vomiting with a headache. So if vomiting is not too much, and headache is teasing you, then, of course, you can give Phenergan a trial.
It's also a good antiemetic though not as potent as Zofran. There is no harm in giving it a trial.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
