How Can Severe Knee Pain, Continuing Over A Month, Be Treated?

my knee pain has been going for more than a month. I was given strong pain killers but did not work. the swelling has gone down, but the pain persist and making it impossible for me to walk. Lying down is equally difficult and any small turning is painful.
