Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 95 year old father had shingles 8 months ago. He healed up & was doing really good. Then, he had a chest X-ray & severe shingle pain started again. We re wondering if the X-ray reactivated the nerve endings. He is now in terrible pain across the chest & back...piercing pain! He s comfortable if he doesn t move. Is there ANYTHING we can do to ease his pain?? Any creams we ve tried have not helped!
In my opinion there are certain medicines which can help numb the aching area like pregabalin but it needs to be advised by your doctor after examining you.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Maryum
