Hi my name is Joanna and I need to know about my finger I burned and it turn black but when it first happend it had a big blister on it but it busted and the fluid was leaking out then my skin peeled off and my finger nail came with it so can you please tell me why is it black
Hello Joanna, the healing of your burnt finger depends on how deep the burn is. If is involves the superficial skin then the black scab will be peeled off soon within the next week or so leaving the underlying skin tissue to regrow. Most likely it was the superficial burn in your case however7 avoid puncturing the blisters on burnt area as these may secondarily get infected and may delay healing. Use an aseptic daily dressing on burnt area with guaze soaked in liquid parrafin or petroleum jelly to speed up recovery. Pain in the burnt area is a good sign of ongoing healing. In case the blackness persists or progressess further then get advice accordingly. Stay blessed.
