How Can Sore Throat Along With Fever And Chills Be Treated?

I returned from Thailand about a week ago. 3 days after arriving home I got sick, I thought it was the flu. Fever, chills but really awful cottonmouth during my sleep. I drank 3 32oz Gatorades last night but I was still thirsty. Cottonmouth is only during sleep time though...during the day no problem there. Also have noticed short term memory loss and today (day 4) I noticed a sore throat.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for your query on HCM

"As"per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this -

1)Do take warm saline gargle every 6 hours for quick recovery

2)Discuss with a Doctor about antibiotics like [Azithromycin or cephalexin] for secondary bacterial infection and [paracetamol] for fever.

Do take few preventive steps like this -

1)Try to clean your hands. Proper hand cleaning is the best way to prevent all kinds of infections. So clean by using soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

2)Try to cover your mouth while coughing or sneezing.

3)Don't share your personal items. Wash those items carefully in hot, soapy water or in a dishwasher.

Hope that helps
