Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I went to the doctor because I have had a horrible sore throat. They said my white blood count was down and gave me amoxicillin. I took antibiotics like 3 weeks ago. Do you think there is a better option? Do you think Zyrtec D will work? Also there is a possibility I could be pregnant so I want to be careful with taking medicines. Please let me know the best option.
Going through your query it seems you have chronic throat infection. You also seems to be resistant to Amoxycilin.
You must try steem inhalation 2-3 times daily it might help you.
Avoid dusty and smoky places.
You should also avoid zyrtec D because this drug is prohibited in first trimester of pregnancy.
If you need antibiotics you will have the option of any fourth generation cephalosporins which are relatively safe but that too after consulting your doctor.
Hope your query is answered. Regards ...........
